I had the pleasure of working with Robin during the MISS WALKER TV Concept in which I played one of the three leads, Jessica Miller. As the director, Robin always had a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve with each scene and prior to shooting would always take time to chat and listen to us, giving us the chance to give input. As an actor this was brilliant as being part of the whole process is something really special. Robin was always calm and focused onset and never once let outside factors affect him negatively. What was also impressive was the fact that he wrote, produced and filmed the project as Director of Photography. His script was vibrant, truthful and in my opinion, 'something different' for a Scottish project and his cinematography skills were outstanding. One memory that stands out for me was when Robin managed to wedge himself between a sink, a window and wall, whilst filming in a kitchen to achieve the perfect shot. Nothing is a problem to Robin and he and Euan worked (and continue to do so) beautifully in preparing for the shoot, including the auditioning and interview process. Always polite and super organised, I wish more producers could be like them.
Robin has been an amazing director to work with. I’ve worked in the film industry for around 8 years now and I’ve been so impressed with how passionate and professional Robin is as a writer/director/producer and cinematographer. He keeps his set fun and stress free. He listens to his actors and allows us to bounce ideas off each other and make creative choices. He went to great lengths to make sure the cast and crew of Miss Walker had a chance to bond which really showed when it came to filming. The team morale on set was always positive and his love and passion for the project was infectious. I’m looking forward to working more with Robin on both Miss Walker and any other future projects.
Had a fun day working with Robin. He was professional, organised and patient throughout our video production process making the whole day a real pleasure, especially for someone like me who had no experience in this area
I've had the pleasure to work with Robin on his project Miss Walker and found him to be both professional and courteous during the production at all times. In this day and age it is very enlightening to find a young man with drive, enthusiasm and commitment day in day out. It is testimony to himself that this young man has a very bright future ahead and is one to watch. I personally look forward to working with him again on many other productions if the case so arises.
It was a delight to watch Robin in action directing his decidedly ambitious student film. It was clear from the outset he has the right inter-personal skills, that make the cast and crew want to do their best for him. No Cecile B. DeMille bullying, riding crop or megaphone, required. His professionalism on the day and his drive, means no great leap of imagination is required to see him working in the film and television industry.
Working with Robin was such a good experience. He’s a passionate, caring and open person, which makes collaborating with him so smooth and easy. He’s a team player, who understands the need for all the people on a crew to have a voice, but at the same time also know what he wants and communicates so clearly. Highly recommend working with Robin. I can’t wait to see what he does next, and work with him again soon!
I was fortunate to make Robin’s acquaintance at University, and there he demonstrated an exceptional enthusiasm for his craft and a discipline to see projects through to their completion. He would continually encourage others, solve problems, and ultimately made one of my ideas a reality. Robin truly is a competent filmmaker and a networking wiz kid that deserves a wealth of opportunities in the creative industries.
Robin created my promo video for my business. It was my first video so I was nervous. Robin had talked with me prior to understand my business and gave me options to consider. On the day he came well prepared with lighting, sound and film all organised. He was calm through out the whole session, directing his team so everyone knew what was going on and was very efficient. He made me feel comfortable and we had a good time through the process. I’ve already recommended Robin to others. Robin has a real passion and natural talent for film.
Ayrshire Samaritans tasked Robin with the tricky job of creating a short film to highlight the work our volunteers do, using actual members of our branch. His professionalism and timely execution throughout the whole process was highly commendable, and his friendliness, sensitivity and patience put our volunteers at ease during the filming. He will be a credit/asset to the film industry.
There is nothing that can sum up Robin’s artistry and professionalism both as a director and visionary DOP. Robin knows how to put actors at ease, ensuring they deliver on a scene quickly, and with integrity. Similarly, he is expert and maintaining a happy and energetic set whilst also working tirelessly to get the perfect take, shot, or angle. He always assembles a crew which is a healthy balance of personalities, and makes everybody feel equal. Unequivocally, Robin would be the perfect addition to your team, whether as a crew member, director, or DOP. Having worked with Robin several times, I can also confidently recommend him for events shoots; he is fantastic at capturing the perfect moment in the more improvised moments of screen works, and this will easily transfer to your wedding, party, or graduation film!
I've had the pleasure of working with Robin on numerous occasions on various projects. He's a great person to work with, focused and driven yet it's always an enjoyable experience. He is hugely passionate for his craft which is very clear to see and is driven to produce work to the absolute best of his ability. I hope I have the chance to work with him more in future!
I worked with Robin on ‘The Girl and The Red Dress’ which he produced. From the outset the audition process was really professional, information about the shoot was clear and forthcoming and on the day of the shoot, he made sure everyone was looked after. Really professional and a joy to work with.
Robin came to the project with energy, organisation and the human touch. Because of this the project was both successful and enjoyable!
Robin is a very professional, yet fun person to work with! He knows exactly what he wants and how to get it!
Robin stayed professional in all circumstances, he worked well with everyone from crew to cast members. I enjoyed working with him and would work with him again.
Robin was fantastic to work with. He always made me feel calm on set and put my mind at ease whenever we were working together.
Robin confidently guided us when using our new streaming venture.
Had a great experience being part of a short film. Great location with a great director all the way through.
